This year, I want to look at the things in my life that are "Right", instead of seeing the things that are wrong.
I plan to stop smoking while I am in the hospital next week.... wish me luck!

Im going on my first elk hunt the day after Thanksgiving. It's going to be cold and frosty, just the way I like it! I went on my first deer hunt last year, and had fun...that buck tasted awesome as green chili meat!

Damn, I wish I still looked like this! This was a picture of me before my "Crone" years.

Menopause and illness can do interesting things to your spirit, body and soul. Learning to accept the changes with grace and a good attitude is another thing!

I am finally finding out that saying "goodbye" to that younger woman just might be ok. I am trying to embrace this new phase of my life. My friend Bonne sent me a great article from Susan Weed...called "Beautiful Menopause", and it has opened my eyes to this shifting and dark nights of my soul. http://www.susunweed.com/herbal_ezine/September09/wisewoman.htm

Fall is coming! I can feel it in the air!

Dehydrating several different types of hot chili, drying my orange peels for harvest simmer scents, still babying my flowers, and lovin' the occasional afternoon rain.
I can't wait for autumn! My favorite time of year. Cool mornings, getting dark earlier, anticipation of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I am at peace this time of year. Away with the hot melting heat of summer! Bllech!

A Productive Weekend

Some new projects this summer!

These are some of the things I'm working on right now ....
Bottles, silverware chimes, shadow boxes, salt scrubs, flower gardens, vegetable garden, and fairy gardens in my yard. Lots of altered art things. My imagination has taken off running lately! I will post more when they get done.

Been busy!!!

A few photos of some of my projects....The Wizard of Oz box is still a work in progress! I love anything from OZ!

The Fairy is a cameo that I glued into a setting, didn't like the back, so I cut the bail and pin off. I put some black fabric in the background, and glued her to the glass...My daughter collects fairies, so it's hers!

This garden is now growing! Planted chili, bell peppers, onions, 4 types of squash, okra, 2 types of cucumbers, and more to come! WHEW!!!

Wire play....More

This wire stuff is addicting! I love doing free-form anything, so these were fun.
The copper pendant goes with "Tucson Blues" and the silver one is called "Maudette".
"Maudette" has sterling silver wire, pearls, Swarovsky crystal, and a larger faceted Blue Topaz focal bead. It will look nice with black leather or silver chain.

Spring Cleaning...Inside and out!

I spent all afternoon on Sunday re-organizing my craft room, setting up a work space for some new Altered Art projects.

I, being the pack-rat that I am, am having a blast finding old junk stuff, old things I had saved, knowing that I could use them one day! My man thinks I'm crazy! (Seems that men have their own pack-rat issues, such as tools, old wood, nails, buckets of all kinds of stuff! My man will drag home some of the weirdest things and tell me he will use them one day)

I also set this room up for my peaceful space.

It's becoming spring out here in Arizona, which means raking, burning weeds, hauling trash and branches, getting the garden ready to plant, and a new fruit tree orchard.

My flower beds are cleaned up, and I hope the Zinnias will come back this summer, along with some others I tried to get to grow in this desert!
